M. Craig Roberts practices in the Firm’s Property & Development, Finance & Banking and Insurance practice groups.

Craig is highly regarded for his expertise in a wide array of real estate matters, including the sale, purchase, transfer, financing, mortgage, debenture and loan phases of real property projects.  His expertise extends to condominium agreements and declarations, fractional ownership arrangements, quieting titles, private and commercial leases, subdivision planning, easements, title insurance, service charges and rights of way.

Craig represents a large number of developers of resorts, hotels, marinas, mixed use and residential projects.   He works closely with various government entities, such as The Central Bank and The Investments Board for his clients, on matters involving exchange control, approvals, licenses and real property tax issues.

As a result of his widespread experience in structuring complex real estate development transactions throughout New Providence and the Out Islands, he enjoys the reputation as one of the leading Bahamian real estate lawyers.

Craig is a member of a well-respected entrepreneurial Bahamian family, and he possesses sound firsthand knowledge of the local business sector and economy.

Craig serves on the Board of Directors of leading insurance companies, a large retail group, a real estate development company, and a number of large resorts.

  • Lead counsel on a non-Bahamian 1000-acre beachfront hotel and residential development in Treasure Cay, Abaco, including all Governmental permits and licenses;
  • Merger of two of the largest insurance companies in The Bahamas;
  • Development structuring of a $20 million resort in Eleuthera, Bahamas;
  • Advising developers on all aspects of purchasing, subdividing, and selling residential sites and condominium lots for several major subdivisions in The Bahamas;
  • Development structuring of a 90 unit condominium property in Abaco; and
  • Development structuring of an 80 unit condominium property on Paradise Island.
