Andrew G. Wells is a Partner in the Firm’s Property & Development practice group based in the Nassau office.
Andrew’s main area of practice encompasses all aspects of real estate development, from acquisition of land to financing, development, sale and leasing. Andrew enjoys a fine reputation for his work for purchasers of high-end homes in exclusive communities throughout the Bahama islands. Often, these transactions require the settlement of numerous complex agreements, and are of a very time sensitive nature. Andrew also oversees banking, corporate and immigration matters for his key real estate clients.
Andrew has a great deal of experience with a wide variety of sophisticated mortgage structures and debentures over real estate, and has assisted clients with joint venture agreements for the purpose of real estate investment. He is known for his careful and thorough advice on title issues relating to land acquisitions and his ability to resolve complex real property tax issues. He is highly regarded for his expertise in subdivision approvals/planning/development/financing, mixed-use development structuring, fractional ownership structures and the intricacies of condominium development including condominium declarations and homeowner association formation.
Andrew is sought after for his ability to navigate through government departments on behalf of foreign investors and clients involved in foreign currency financing transactions. In this regard, he works on Exchange Control approvals, Investment Board approvals, and Central Bank of The Bahamas approvals.
In the Banking & Finance arena, Andrew works on asset financing, commercial financing, residential financing, corporate finance, project finance, lease financing, as well as securing necessary regulatory approvals for this wide array of financial structures.
